Mid-July

Mid-July! We can’t believe it’s already here. This summer has been full of so many adventures for Noah’s Ark, so here’s a little recap…  We’ve trained our first here guide class, played in the Arkansas River high water, peaked lots of 14ers, and have made many memories with families and groups in Buena Vista, CO.

Our first years checked out as river guides about a month ago and not only do we think they have been thriving, but many of you do as well…

“We took a rafting trip with Jadie Ruth and she was the sickest guide ever! Such a sweet, kind, and intentional soul!! Her love for people, the river, and Jesus was so evident to us all! I would absolutely recommend rafting with Noah’s…and don’t forget to ask for Jadie Ruth when y’all go!!”

“Our guide Kepler was excellent and engaging, she made fun conversation and we all felt like a family by the end of the day. This is a professional and well run organization.”

These guides went through 6 weeks of rigorous training. From flip boat training to Wilderness Advanced First Aid certification, they have dedicated much time to becoming exceptional guides. We are incredibly proud of them for their skills, but even more so for the people they have grown into. They care for one another intentionally and carry themselves with grace.

This summer has been quite fun on the Arkansas River as groups have gone down the Narrows, the Numbers, Browns Canyon, and overnight rafting trips. These past few weeks we have even gotten to use some brand new life jackets and NRS boats! They can’t be missed as their colors pop brightly throughout Browns Canyon. We look forward to many more adventures with our new equipment.

Other than the river, the backcountry has been the place to be this summer! Groups from all over the country have come to Noah’s for 3 to 5 day backpacking trips through the Collegiate Peak and Buffalo Peak Wilderness areas. Many arrive at Noah’s with zero backpack experience and leave feeling encouraged and accomplished. The views of flower filled meadows, alpine lake campsites, and mountain ranges are only a piece of the beauty of a backpacking trip at Noah’s Ark.

We cannot wait to see what the rest of the summer brings! We are hopeful for many incredible rafting trips down the Arkansas River, climbing at Bob’s Rock and Turtle Rock, fishing trips, Browns Canyon Aerial Park visits, and lots of quality time around a campfire on our campground. We are excited!
